Close to 65 million people around the world have been forcibly displaced from their homes. There were over one million asylum claims in European countries last year and the number of asylum applications in the UK increased by 70% from 2010 to 2016. These developments have spurred a growing interest in exploring the economic and social outcomes of refugees and their impact on hosting economies.
This seminar series brings together some of the top experts on the socio-economic integration of refugees to explore these topics in detail. The speakers include practitioners and academics who have worked extensively on issues relating to refugees in both developed and developing countries.
The seminar series is part of the project The Economic Integration of Refugees in the UK funded by The Nuffield Foundation.
